PREPARING FOR THE NEW SEASON!
With no news to report for the longest time and hours of work spent renovating our house, speedway and the website has had to take a back seat. Hence the longest stagnant period in our website updates so far. Apologies.
However, with much of the long dark Canadian winter behind us, the season in the UK about to start in about a week or so and early preparatory work beginning in Team Small's workshop, it's time to put that to rights!
First and foremeost, great news regarding sponsorship for the coming season. One of last years generous sponsors NBL Consultant Services has once again pledged help for the coming season and will be our major backer for the 2005 campaign. Michael's #2 laydown machine will proudly display this organization's name on it's covers. A huge thank you to NBL who's help is very much appreciated.
Secondly, we picked up a new Jawa frame diamond from our local Jawa supplier here in SW Ontario, Hesmer Motorsports. This will now permit us to fully prepare Michael's #2 machine. If you remember the frame diamond was rendered useless at the tail end of last season and replacement with a new one was our only option.
So we are well back into the Speedway groove and looking forward for the snow to melt and the early season practice sessions at Paris to begin.
As previously mentioned, the season in the UK is under starters orders and I'm sure all of us Canadian based riders and supporters will be very interested to see how Kyle Legault's start to his first Premiere League season in Sheffield Tigers colours goes. We wish him all the best. Don't forget regular updates on his progress can be found on the CSRA website.
I am also currently putting the finishing touches on the next chapter in "Speedway Bike History 1960's - Present Day". I've already added to it and we are now up to the early nineteen nineties, just before the introduction of "laydown" machines. I did promise to have it complete by the start of the Canadian season and that is still the target. Check it out on the "Bike History" button on the front page to see progress so far.
Well, that's about it for now. Check back soon for more regular updates in the near future!
