Arizona Speedway Museum
I recently found an astonishing website highlighting a collector of speedway machines and memorabilia in the somewhat unlikely location of Arizona USA.
Curator of the museum is Rick Newlee. Rick has amassed an amazing collection of vintage and modern speedway machines, including a very rare SOHC Weslake.
I recently e-mailed him to ask his permission to link to his website from mine and he informs me that he has just purchased Scott Autrey's #1 Weslake. Scott raced this bike during his last season before retirement in 1982 with the Poole Pirates. Neil Middleditch was looking after the machine but will be soon packing it up to commence it's long jorney to the USA.
Click the link below to check out Rick's amazing museum. I've also included a permanent link on my "Links" page.

First Paris Practice 2006
Canadian Speedway riders and fans will very soon get their first taste of 2006 action as next Sunday 30th April sees the first practice session at the Paris track.
Weather permitting, the session runs from 12 noon, until 4:00pm. With the remarkably mild and dry conditions over early spring this year, the Paris track is in excellent shape at the time of writing. I was at the track last Monday evening and it looked truly inviting!
On a personal note, I am frantically trying to have my Weslake ready for next weekend. However, I am currently suffering from shingles (no not roofing tiles) but a form of painful adult chickenpox. This is hampering my efforts somewhat but I am determined to be at the track next Sunday regardless of whether I am riding or not.
Hope to see plently of people there!
